The VAVA Dash Cam Facebook Community has quickly grown over the past few weeks. Potential backers have gathered on the Facebook page to inquire about the dash cam’s functionalities / features, its future availability, or simply to share their enthusiasm for a device that’s based on real drivers’ feedback and engineered to meet the real drivers’ needs.

Read on for a quick summary of the most asked questions and do not hesitate to head over to the VAVA Dash Cam Facebook Community yourself to find the answer to any question you may have.

Q: Can you install two cameras, one for the front and one for the back, under the same account?

A: Yes, the same account can be used for two or more VAVA Dash Cams. Yet, the current firmware of the app does not allow to display both cameras simultaneously. The users are required to log out of one account and log into the other one.

Q: Is the power cord visible once completed the installation?

A: No, the power cord hides discreetly underneath the rubber / silicon protective margin of the windshield. Also check out the blog “The VAVA Dash and Usability: Staying Safe on the Road Made Easy” for a step-to-step installation guide.

Q: What makes the VAVA Dash Cam different from any car camera that features a parking mode to record when the car is motionless / parked?

A: The VAVA Dash Cam comes with the option of its own powerbank charger which will place it into automatically ino parking mode when you switch off the car’s engine (unlike other car cameras that require the users to manually turn on such feature).

While in parking mode the VAVA Dash Cam won’t record uninterruptedly until it runs out of power. The built-in G-sensor will wake it up and have it capture a short video ONLY when it detects suspicious activities outside of the car (e.g. when a vehicle bumps into your car).

Q: Will the suction safely support the dash cam? Why not use some 3M adhesive tape instead?

A: Unlike the 3M double sided adhesive tape that is harder to remove, the integrated suction cup will allow the users to easily reposition the VAVA Dash Cam elsewhere within the vehicle’s cabin if needed. The suction can be attached / detached without losing its original grip. The suction supports up to 8 kg, whereas the VAVA Dash Cam weighs only 80 g.

Q: What are the actual dimensions of the VAVA Dash Cam? Will it obstruct the view while driving?

A: The VAVA Dash Cam’s main body measures 2.4 x 2.8 x 1.1 in (L x W x H). The support section’s height is as little as 2.7 in. Thanks to its compact profile, the VAVA Dash Cam can discreetly hide behind the rearview mirror and will not obstruct the view of the road.

Q: How many lanes does the 140° camera lens capture?

A: The 140° wide-angle camera lens captures from 3 up to 5 lanes (depending on the width of each lane).

Q: Does the car camera feature night vision?

A: No, the VAVA Dash Cam does not feature any night vision functionality. Yet, the built-in 1/2.8-inch 2.0 Megapixel SONY IMX291 CMOS sensor with F/1.8 aperture is made of 6 glass lenses and 1 infrared lens. This advanced lens setup can capture crystal-clear footage in 1080p HD quality at 60 fps both night and day.
